About this event
We've teamed up with Skype this Valentines so you can go the extra mile to find your perfect match. At your speed dating event you will meet all other guests face to face, plus you will be linked via Skype to another speed dating event running simultaneously in London! You will also have the chance to create your own Video Flirt Card with Skype and view other attendees’ Video Flirt Cards before you meet them at the event!
Before the Event
All guests will make a short Video Flirt Card. This will be a quick hello and introduction, it can be very brief! You will need to have access to a computer and we will send you a Skype Certified headset and webcam and e-mail guidance to create your own video card. You will need to download Skype if you haven't got it already
click here to download Skype. Remember it's free to stay closer to family and friends around the world with skype-to-skype voice and video calls, so don’t forget to add those close to you.
What happens at an eventWhen you arrive you will see a SpeedDater Host in a T-shirt who will register you in to the event and give you a scorecard, a name badge and a pen, then invite you to have a drink at the bar. Once everyone has arrived the SpeedDater host will explain how speed dating works and answer any questions. Then the dating begins. One 'date' will be set up with a laptop, and we'll link you up to the speed dating event running simultaneously in London! And what happens if you really hit it off? One lucky couple will win a night out in the capital and paint the town red, courtesy of Skype*.
After every 4 minutes, we'll ring the bell, and both ladies and gents will rotate in opposite directions. After each date, participants mark on a scorecard whether they would like to see that person again. At the end of the evening many people stay around to chat to the people they've just met. Our speed dating evenings are great fun. For best results we recommend you come along with an open mind and don't take it too seriously. You'll have a great time, you'll meet lots of single people and maybe someone special.
Sue Ostler of the Flirt Diva Academy is an expert in the flirting arts and tutors singles to build their personal and social confidence through her events, one on one sessions and best-selling books. Sue will be providing a special videocard to all daters ahead of the evening to guide you through the recording of your own videocard to ensure you really shine through. Sue will also be on hand at the event to provide flirt tips and tricks, and advice on spotting relationship potential! Find out more about Sue at http://www.flirtdiva.co.uk/.
After the event
At the end of the evening everyone takes their scorecards home with them to enter their ticks online on our website. And after the event you can contact anyone you meet through our secure website. All our events are guaranteed! If you don't meet at least one person you'd like to see again your next event is free.
*One lucky couple from the Skype Speed Dating event will have the chance to enjoy a VIP night out in London and get to know each other better! The evening will start with a champagne ride on the London Eye, followed by a fun dinner and cocktails at the vibrant Cuban restaurant Floridita in Soho. To continue the virtual Valentines experience, Skype will also provide ‘3’ Skype enabled phones, keeping you connected wherever you are.
"Meeting face to face is the only way for me. I can tell instantly if I fancy someone or not. Sometimes 3 minutes is too long!" Lara, London. March 2009.
"Everyone is single so there's no guess work here. The whole concept is brilliant." James, Birmingham, April 2009.
"I met 17 guys and got ticked by 9, so I'd say most definitely a success! A very enjoyable evening, even if nothing comes from it I will book again. I would highly recommend it!!" Sue, Dover St, Mayfair 27th May 2009
