Speed dating with Speedater
Speed dating has been around a long time. It’s just that in the past it wasn’t called speed dating. In the UK formal dances had big elements of speed dating. You even had a scorecard just like modern day speed dating. You used the card to write a list of the people you were going to dance with during the course of the evening.
We’re often asked whether speed dating with Speedater is just a fad. Because, in its present incarnation speed dating has been around for just a few years we can’t be sure. But we do think it is here to stay as part of the dating mix. There will always be lots of single people (40 percent of Londoners aged 25-40 according to figures we’ve seen). 40 percent of people meet their partners through work, a significant proportion meet people through friends, family and hobbies but that still leaves a lot prepared to use other methods to meet a partner.
Because speed dating is so fast it favours instant chemistry. You won’t meet the sort of people who take six months to grow on you through speed dating. We advise daters that it’s best to come with an open mind and not to take it too seriously. That way you’ll have a great time and you just might meet someone special. And don’t forget speed dating with Speedater is a numbers game. If you don’t meet anyone at your first speed date you should give it another try!
