How can I pay for membership?

Just click Make Payment to go to the payment page. This will show you what packages we have, and any special offers we may have. We accept the majority of credit and debit cards. We do not hold any card details on our servers, which ensures maximum safety for your details. You can in special circumstances use alternative methods of payment - by calling our call centre on 0131 608 0066. Please note we no longer accept payment by cheque/postal order.

How many people can I add to 'My Friends'?

You can add as many people as you want to your friends list. Just click on the 'Add to friends' button on their profile to add them to your list of friends. If you haven't made any friends yet, go to 'Search Members' and find a friend!

I'm having trouble using chat on your website?

First clear out your temporary internet files. To do this, log onto the internet and select 'tools' then 'internet options'. Delete your temporary files and clear your internet history. Now select the General tab. Click settings and set your browser to 'Check for new pages every visit'. Restart your computer.

If that doesn't work make sure you have cookies enabled on your computer. To do this go to Tools, Internet Options from your browser and select the Privacy tab. Next click on the Advanced button under privacy and tick the boxes to accept first and third party cookies and to always allow session cookies. Then click OK.

Another reason you may be having difficulties with chat is 'pop-up blockers'. If you have a pop up blocker (there will be a yellow strip along the top of the browser) click on the yellow line and select 'always allow pop ups from this site'.

I've been given some membership to SpeedDater. Has my card been charged?

We have probably given you a free trial for SpeedDater online dating. Your card will never be charged without your explicit permission. Please note that the membership is on repeat billing and will renew after the month membership is near the end. You will need to cancel this if you do not wish to be charged.

I've filled in a profile but when I do a search I can't seem to find myself on the site?

When you are logged in on your own profile you cannot see yourself in the search results. Only other members can see your profile from the list

Is it a good idea to upload a photograph?

Yes, we can't over emphasize how important it is to include a photograph. Profiles with photographs generate ten times more interest. Many people will not reply to profiles without pictures on principle.
If you've attended a SpeedDater event, a good picture will remind people who you are.

Someone is sending me offensive flirts. Can I block them?

Yes, just go to read the flirt and you will see a link underneath which says 'block flirts'. Just click the link.

When I click the back button after viewing a profile I get an error message?

Go to Tools/Internet Options and click the delete files button in the middle of the dialog box then check the box to 'delete all offline content'. To prevent this happening again (and it will effect other websites not just SpeedDater) set 'Days to keep pages in history' to five or less.

Where can I view my "Billing History" and how long is left of my membership?

To view your current status:
1. Click on the "My Account" link.
2. Click on the "Billing History" link to view your current status and see when your membership expires.

Why was my picture denied?

Profiles with a photo get much more attention than incomplete profiles, so it's important to know the reasons why it can be denied. First of all, we don't accept clipart, graphics, drawings and landscape photos as a profile photo. Children's photos are unacceptable as well as photos of animals and acts of violence. One of the most frequent issues is uploading a female photo for a male profile and vice versa. If you indicated the wrong gender during the registration process, please don't try to upload a photo as it will be declined. All you need to do is re-register indicating the correct gender or contact us on admin@speeddater.co.uk to inform us you need to edit your gender.

Will my card be automatically re-billed at the end of my membership?

Only if you ticked one of the 'auto-renewal' options when you upgraded to Platinum membership.
