Whilst some people say the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else, others prefer to take their time. I say that everyone is different, and you just have to do what is right for you. Whether it’s 1 day or 1 year, until you feel ready to get back in the dating game, there is no point in even trying.

2. Rely on your friends
Friends are the family we choose to have in our lives and chances are they were there long before your ex and will be there for you now. From tagging them in memes to just telling them how your days been, true friends will always be around when you need them!

3. Concentrate on you
Whether it’s buying that outfit you always wanted or signing up to a gym class, now is the perfect time to do something just for you. So indulge yourself a little, take the time to reconnect with yourself and realise the amazing person that you are.

4. Have fun
Now this one is my personal favourite. Just let loose and enjoy yourself! Whilst being single can be daunting, it can also be a lot of fun being able to do exactly what you want when you want, so take advantage of that and just go along with the ride.

5. Give it a go!
To get back in the dating game, you actually have to put yourself out there and whether it’s joining a dating app or coming along to a singles night, often the first step is the hardest. Just remember that as soon as you get over that hurdle, everything gets a lot easier!
