London date ideas to impress for Spring 2018

Spring is very nearly sprung and with a whole new season a number of new dating possibilities become available. So as we’re big fans of this blossom-filled season and think it’s a great time to date in the city we thought we’d offer you a few ideas to impress your date this Spring:

1. Get up into the clouds.

The sky is the limit when you transport your date 35 floors above Fenchurch Street at the building more commonly known as the ‘Walkie Talkie’. At the Sky Garden you can enjoy three storeys of landscaped gardens lush with South African and Mediterranean plants, observation decks, an open-air terrace, two restaurants, a bar and an uninterrupted panorama of the city's skyline. Fingers crossed your date is ok with heights!

Entry is free but you have to book your 90 minute slot at least three days in advance.

2. Enjoy flowers in bloom.

Spring is only complete once flowers have begun to bloom. We suggest you head to Kew’s Orchids festival that will celebrate Thailand’s vibrant plant life and culture. You will be able to Immerse yourself in a celebration of Thailand’s vibrant colours, culture, and magnificent plant life. You will also be able to learn about the significance of orchids in Thai cuisine, medicine and culture. Plus you have the rest if the Botanical Gardens to explore.

The festival runs 10 February to 11 March 2018.

Tickets start at £16 when you purchase online

3. Enjoy some of the black stuff!

17th March means just one thing! Yes it's time to celebrate everything Irish. The Irish always know how to have a party and what better way to celebrate St Patrick’s day than with a pint of Guiness and a date. Expect rowdy singalongs, fast-paced dancing, a parade and a whole lot of ‘craic’ at London’s official Paddy’s Day celebration in Trafalgar Square.

4. Watch a shooting star (well maybe!).

There is nothing more romantic than lying back and watching the stars at night with a loved one. The Culpepper on Commercial St, E1 are hosting an evening tour of the night sky from their rooftop all guided by astronomy expert Seb Jay. So not only will you learn something, and potentially see a shooting star but you can also enjoy a glass of wine and main course spread.

5. Lambs a lambing!

What could be more life affirming than watching tiny lambs gallivanting around a field? Just because we live in a city it doesn’t mean that there aren’t opportunities to get up close to baby lambs. With 32 acres on the Isle of Dogs Mudchute Farm makes up one of London’s biggest farms. Get you and your date over to Mudchute Farm and their petting zoo for maximum Spring time fun!
