New year, new you! That’s what everyone keeps saying, and they’re right. A brand new year always makes you think about where you’re going in life, what you’re doing, and who you’re doing (or not doing) it with. It comes as no surprise then that January is the busiest time for singles events!

During the 2015 post-Christmas period (26/12 – 31/12), the SpeedDater website saw a BIG spike in traffic above the Dec daily average. Overall events bookings in this same period rose by over 16%, with London coming top as the most popular city for bookings, and Glasgow second.

Coming into January, we typically see a traffic increase of around 55% compared with December. Why? One of the top New Year’s resolutions is to get out more and explore potential romances. Anyone who spent Christmas as a singleton with a Facebook feed full of newly engaged couples is thinking that 2016 is the time to find a partner… and it is!
